It runs from The Fast and the Furious (2001), directed by Rob Cohen, to Fast X (2023), directed by Louis Leterrier. Fast Forever is dated for March 17, 2028, and the Fast Forever page tracks it.

How Many Toretto Siblings Are There?Spoilers

There are three Toretto siblings in the films: Dominic, Mia and Jakob. Dom and Mia are there from the start in The Fast and the Furious (2001), where Mia is played by Jordana Brewster and Dom runs a crew and a family cafe. Jakob only enters the story in F9 (2021), directed by Justin Lin, played by John Cena as an adult and by Finn Cole as Young Jakob.

F9 also names the siblings' father as Jack and places his death in 1989, in a crash on a race track. Dom comes to suspect that Jakob had a hand in it, and that suspicion drives their split, which ends with Dom forcing Jakob out of Los Angeles after a race between them. For the two siblings you see most, read the pages on Dominic Toretto and Mia Toretto.

Dom also has a cousin named Fernando, whose debt to a loan shark opens the Havana section of The Fate of the Furious (2017), directed by F. Gary Gray. No actor is credited for Fernando.

Jakob Toretto: The Brother Dom Has to ForgiveSpoilers

Jakob Toretto is Dom's brother and Jack Toretto's son, played by John Cena in F9 (2021) and Fast X (2023). In the present day of F9 he is working with the people behind Project Aries, a device that can hack weapons systems, and he steals the half of it that Dom's team finds. Otto, his wealthy backer, later turns on him, Dom and Mia rescue him, and Dom hands Jakob his car keys so he can get away from custody, which is how the brothers finally make peace.

That peace pays off in Fast X. Jakob saves Mia and Little B in Los Angeles, takes the boy to Portugal, and sacrifices himself to stop the pursuing mercenaries. If you want the full character write up, Jakob Toretto has its own page.

Who Is Dom and Letty's Kid?Spoilers

Dom and Letty's kid is Little Brian, also called Little B, who is Dom's son with Elena Neves rather than Letty's biological child. Dom names the boy Brian at the end of The Fate of the Furious (2017), and Letty helps raise him. F9 (2021) describes Dom as retired and living with Letty and his young son, and the Fast X (2023) setup calls Little B their young son.

The mother named in the Fate plot is Elena Neves, which the next section covers. Letty's own long road through the saga is on her page, Letty Ortiz.

In F9, Who Is Little Brian's Mom?Spoilers

Little Brian's mother is Elena Neves, played by Elsa Pataky, as established in The Fate of the Furious (2017). In that film the cyberterrorist Cipher pressures Dom by showing that she holds his former partner, Elena, and their baby son. Cipher's enforcer Connor Rhodes later kills Elena in front of Dom, and at the end of the film Dom names the boy Brian.

Elena first appears in Fast Five (2011) as the local officer who joins Hobbs and the crew for the Rio vault heist, and she is credited again in Fast & Furious 6 (2013). F9 (2021) shows the boy living with Dom and Letty, so the Fate plot is what names his mother. Elena's fate is why the tree shows Little Brian under Dom, with Letty raising him alongside.

How Many Kids Did Mia and Brian Have?Spoilers

Mia and Brian have one child and a second on the way by the end of Furious 7 (2015), and no children are named. Mia tells Brian she is pregnant during the Rio chapter of Fast Five (2011), which gives the first child, and by the Furious 7 setup Brian is getting used to being a father. The film closes on him settled into a quiet family life with another baby on the way, and that is the last count in the films.

The films give neither child a name. For Brian's own arc, see Brian O'Conner.

The Shaw Family: Owen, Deckard, Hattie and QueenieSpoilers

The Shaw family is Owen Shaw, Deckard Shaw and Hattie Shaw, plus Queenie Shaw, the mother of Deckard and Hattie. Owen (Luke Evans) arrives in Fast & Furious 6 (2013) as a former British special forces officer who leads a team of mercenary drivers, and he is alive in The Fate of the Furious (2017). His older brother Deckard (Jason Statham) swears revenge in Furious 7 (2015), attacks Hobbs, kills Han in Tokyo and wrecks the Toretto home with a letter bomb.

Hattie Shaw (Vanessa Kirby), an MI6 agent and Deckard's sister, enters the saga in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019), directed by David Leitch, alongside Queenie (Helen Mirren). A post credit scene there has Deckard and Hattie break Queenie out of prison. The Fate plot calls Deckard's mother Magdalene, while the Hobbs & Shaw credits list her as Queenie Shaw. Queenie is the credited name.

Deckard moves into Dom's circle at the end of Fate, when he hands Dom's son back and is welcomed into the family. In Fast X he agrees to help Dom's team but leaves to protect his mother from Dante's men. Read more on Deckard Shaw.

The Hobbs Family: Luke, Jonah and SamoaSpoilers

The Hobbs family is Luke Hobbs, his brother Jonah Hobbs and Luke's daughter, based in Samoa. Luke first appears in Fast Five (2011) as the federal agent hunting Dom's crew, and by the end of The Fate of the Furious (2017) he turns down a government job to spend time with his daughter.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) is where the family is on screen. Hobbs takes Hattie and Deckard to his family's home in Samoa, where his brother Jonah (Cliff Curtis) repairs the device that can remove the virus, and the Hobbs family sets traps for Brixton's forces. A post credit scene shows Hobbs introducing his daughter to his Samoan relatives. The full profile sits on Luke Hobbs.

Who Counts as Chosen Family?Spoilers

Chosen family in the Fast and Furious saga means crew members treated as relatives without a blood tie, such as Han Lue, Roman Pearce, Tej Parker, Ramsey and Gisele Yashar. The clearest line comes at the end of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), when Dom tells Sean that Han was family. Roman Pearce is Brian's childhood friend in 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), and Tej Parker joins the garage crew from there.

Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) is the hacker who built the God's Eye tracking program, and the crew rescues her in Furious 7 (2015) before she helps shut the program down. Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot) is lost saving Han in Fast & Furious 6 (2013), then returns from the dead in Fast X (2023) to rescue Letty and Cipher in Antarctica.

The tree has one example of the family door opening outright: Deckard Shaw, the man who killed Han, is accepted into the group at the end of The Fate of the Furious (2017) and shares the rooftop dinner. Pages for Han Lue, Roman Pearce and Tej Parker cover the rest.

The Family Tree Explained: Blood Is Only Half of ItSpoilers

The Fast and Furious family tree is best read in two layers: a small blood layer of Torettos, Shaws and Hobbs, and a larger household layer of chosen family. The Toretto line is the chassis, with Jack, Dom, Mia and Jakob bolted together by one old crash, and everything else gets welded on afterward.

The hinge is Deckard's welcome at the end of The Fate of the Furious (2017). A man who killed Han and wrecked the Toretto home ends up at the rooftop dinner because he hands a baby back, and that is a bigger structural change than any new sibling. The second hinge is Jakob in F9 (2021) and Fast X (2023), where one brother's forgiveness sets up a sacrifice that Dom now has to carry.

Fast X leaves Dom, his son and several others in an open cliffhanger, and Fast Forever is dated for March 17, 2028. If you are new to the saga, start with fast and furious movies in order and read the two side by side.
