New Transformers Movie Trailer: Has Paramount Released One?

No, Paramount has not released a trailer for the next Transformers film, because that film is still in development and has no title, cast or release date. As of November 3, 2026, the most recent Transformers films to reach theaters are Transformers One (2024), the animated spinoff directed by Josh Cooley, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023), directed by Steven Caple Jr.

Searching for a new Transformers movie trailer returns mostly fan-made concept videos, some titled Transformers 8: Rise of Unicron and some naming Hollywood stars who have not been announced. Those are not studio releases. TheWrap reported on June 11, 2026 that Jason Fuchs was hired to write an untitled Transformers film for Paramount and Hasbro, continuing from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and that report quoted no official statement. The film is not filming and has no cast, so the practical test is simple: if a video shows a title, a cast list or a release year, it did not come from the studio, since none of those exist yet.

What Has Actually Been Reported About the Next Film?

The reporting so far covers a writer, a possible director and a setting, and nothing more. TheWrap's June exclusive named Fuchs as writer and listed Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy and Steven Spielberg as producers, all marked as reported. On October 6, 2026, TheWrap added that Michael Bay is in early talks to direct, that Spielberg is overseeing the franchise, that the story is set in modern day and that Shia LaBeouf is not returning. No outlet has announced a release date for the US, UK or Australia, so the date is still to be confirmed.

One rumor sits beside that. TheWrap's June report also said a separate Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover film is being written by Derek Connolly. That is a reported claim with no studio confirmation, and it is a different project from the one Fuchs is writing.

Will Mark Wahlberg or Megan Fox Be in the New Film?

No cast has been announced for the next film, so neither actor is attached. Mark Wahlberg played Cade Yeager in Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) and Transformers: The Last Knight (2017). Megan Fox played Mikaela Banes in Transformers (2007) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009). For the full roster across the saga, see Transformers cast.

How Can You Tell a Real Trailer from a Fan Concept?

A real studio trailer is cut from shot footage and arrives inside a campaign tied to a date, and the next film has neither yet. Compare the past campaigns. Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) opened the Moscow film festival with its world premiere on June 23, 2011, with a Red Square concert, six days before the June 29 wide release, according to TheWrap and The Moscow Times. Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) held its world premiere at the Hong Kong Culture Center on June 19, 2014, eight days before the June 27 US IMAX release, according to IMAX's announcement. Each trailer sat inside a dated rollout like that.

The footage itself also gives it away. Bumblebee (2018) shot around San Francisco, with Vallejo standing in for the town of Brighton Falls and a Boeing plant doubling as the Sector 7 headquarters, according to Screen Global Production. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023) filmed in Peru, according to Slashfilm. Transformers One (2024) built Cybertron with the design of Maurice Noble as an influence and animation from ILM, according to TheWrap. A fan concept cannot show any of that, because there is no set, no location and no animation pipeline behind it. In my opinion, a clip that cuts together shots from Age of Extinction and Rise of the Beasts under a new title is the most common giveaway, since the recycled Optimus Prime scenes never match the credited cast.

Which Trailer Belongs to Which Film?

The quickest way to match a trailer to a film is its setup, its director and its year. Peter Cullen is credited as the voice of Optimus Prime in the 1986 film and in all seven live action films, while Chris Hemsworth voices Orion Pax, who becomes Optimus Prime, in Transformers One.

  • The Transformers: The Movie (1986), directed by Nelson Shin. An animated spinoff in which the Decepticons conquer Cybertron and Unicron revives Megatron as Galvatron. The Numbers notes a Fathom release in 2026, forty years after the August 8, 1986 US opening, so a 40th anniversary trailer, if you find one, advertises the 1986 film and not a new one.
  • Transformers (2007), directed by Michael Bay. Sam Witwicky buys an old car that turns out to be the Autobot Bumblebee, while the Decepticons hunt for the AllSpark.
  • Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), directed by Michael Bay. Sam heads to college, finds a shard of the AllSpark and sees strange alien symbols, while Megatron answers to an ancient master called the Fallen.
  • Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), directed by Michael Bay. A spacecraft called the Ark crashed on the Moon in 1962, and the Autobots later find Sentinel Prime and Space Bridge technology there.
  • Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014), directed by Michael Bay. Inventor Cade Yeager repairs a badly hurt Optimus Prime in Texas while the CIA unit Cemetery Wind hunts the Autobots.
  • Transformers: The Last Knight (2017), directed by Michael Bay. The story reaches back to Merlin and the Knights of Iacon in 484 AD, with Anthony Hopkins as Sir Edmund Burton and Gemma Chan as Quintessa.
  • Bumblebee (2018), directed by Travis Knight. Set in California in 1987, with Dylan O'Brien voicing B-127 and Hailee Steinfeld as Charlie Watson, who finds the yellow Volkswagen Beetle he becomes. Bumblebee (2018) should not be confused with Bumblebee the Transformer.
  • Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023), directed by Steven Caple Jr. Anthony Ramos plays Noah Diaz in 1994 Brooklyn, where Optimus Primal has escaped to Earth with the Transwarp Key.
  • Transformers One (2024), directed by Josh Cooley. An animated origin story on Cybertron with Orion Pax and D-16 as friends in the mining city of Iacon.
