Frozen 3 Trailer: What Is Official and When to Expect It

The only official Frozen III footage so far was shown to the audience at the Disney Entertainment showcase at D23 in August 2026, and Disney has not confirmed a studio published trailer as of November 3, 2026. D23 lists the theatrical release date as November 24, 2027, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Disney announced the film's 2027 debut at D23 in August 2024, where it showed first concept art and a new logo, so the August 2026 showing is the next public step. If you searched for the trailer tonight, the practical answer is that you can stream the earlier films and shorts now, but footage of the new film has not been released online in any form Disney has confirmed.

No, not as an official online release that Disney has confirmed. The D23 footage was a live event showing, and the studio has not been confirmed to have posted it on its own channel. That matters because the top search results for "Frozen 3 trailer" are mostly fan trailers, concept trailers and wedding themed edits with titles such as "Anna's Big Wedding". Those are made by viewers, not by Disney, and they are not evidence of the plot. A reliable test is the channel (an official trailer appears on the official Walt Disney Animation Studios or Disney channels), so anything uploaded elsewhere should be treated as fan work.

Disney has not announced a trailer date, and no official source says when a teaser or full trailer will arrive. The film itself is set for November 24, 2027, and that remains the only confirmed date. The Frozen 3 page tracks the release date, cast and every rumor with its source.

D23 confirms the three leads returning: Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa and Josh Gad as Olaf. Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy are confirmed as directors, with Christina Chen confirmed as a producer. TheWrap reports that Peter Del Vecho is also a producer, and that Lee, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are among the writers. A separate TheWrap report says Bell, Menzel and Gad signed deals worth more than $60 million each covering Frozen 3 and Frozen 4, and that Disney declined to comment. That is a report, not a confirmed figure, and Frozen IV is a mention only for now, with no date or footage. For the wider ensemble from the earlier films, including Kristoff, see the Frozen cast page.

Disney has not said that Elsa marries anyone in Frozen III. The marriage and wedding stories come from fan trailers and speculation, so treat them as unconfirmed. For the characters as they stand, read Elsa Frozen, Anna Frozen and Olaf.

Each earlier Frozen film and short had its own release, and all of them stream on Disney Plus in the US, UK and Australia. Frozen (2013), directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, opened in US theaters on November 27, 2013. Frozen II (2019), also directed by Lee and Buck, followed on November 22, 2019. The three shorts have separate release histories. Frozen Fever (2015) played before Cinderella on March 13, 2015 and runs 8 minutes. Olaf's Frozen Adventure (2017) played before Coco from November 22, 2017 and runs 22 minutes. Once Upon a Snowman (2020) arrived on Disney Plus on October 23, 2020 and runs 7 minutes. The Frozen III rollout so far is quieter than the saga's earlier releases, and the history of the series explains why a gap between a D23 showing and an online trailer is not unusual to read into. Frozen (2013) opened on November 27, 2013, and Frozen III is aimed at the same Thanksgiving window, so Disney is returning to the slot that launched the saga. Frozen II also shows how dates can move: Disney pulled its US release forward from November 27 to November 22, 2019, as BroadwayWorld reported. Anyone treating the November 24, 2027 date as fixed should remember that precedent, although D23 lists it as confirmed today.

The shorts show how differently Disney has introduced this world. Frozen Fever was announced as the first project to reunite the original Frozen team, and it reached theaters attached to Cinderella. Olaf's Frozen Adventure was first announced in February 2016 as an ABC special, then moved to theaters in June 2017 and paired with Coco. That short was later pulled from Coco from December 8, 2017, as Slashfilm reported. Once Upon a Snowman skipped theaters and debuted on Disney Plus, picking up right after Elsa builds her ice palace and brings Olaf to life.

When real Frozen III footage does appear, the useful comparison is with what the series has already shown. Frozen (2013) began with Elsa accidentally striking Anna with ice, the trolls healing her, and the castle gates closing. Frozen II began with a voice calling Elsa north toward the Enchanted Forest and its wall of mist, a story the creators built partly from research trips, which Disney's account places in Norway and Quebec, with Sami influence on the design. An official Frozen III trailer will be judged against those two openings, and in my opinion that is the best way to tell a genuine Disney teaser from a fan edit: real footage will look like the same world, with credited returning voices and the director names on the film, Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy.

Frozen III continues a saga that started with two main films, so the best preparation is release order. The Frozen movies in order guide sets out the sequence, and the Frozen timeline shows how the shorts slot between the films. The wider franchise is collected on the Frozen movies hub, and the Frozen soundtrack page covers the music.
