Who were the girls in Frozen? The two sisters are Anna and Elsa, and each has a younger self in the opening act of Frozen (2013): Livvy Stubenrauch voices Young Anna and Eva Bella voices Young Elsa. As adults, Bell and Menzel carry the story. Both younger voices return as archive sound in the short Once Upon a Snowman (2020), according to its TMDB credits.

Who are the singing voices in Frozen, and who is Anna's singing voice? Kristen Bell is credited as the voice of Anna and Idina Menzel as the voice of Elsa. In Frozen II, Menzel is credited on Into the Unknown and, alongside Evan Rachel Wood, on Show Yourself. Let It Go, which won the Oscar for Best Original Song, was written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

What about the supporting players? Alan Tudyk voices Duke in Frozen (2013). Ciarán Hinds voices Pabbie, the troll leader, in both films, and also voices Grandpa in the first. Maia Wilson voices Bulda in both films, and Santino Fontana voices Hans in the first film and in the short Frozen Fever (2015).

For the Frozen cast reindeer, Frozen II credits Jonathan Groff for Kristoff, Sven and the reindeer, so one actor covers all three. The character pages go deeper on each role: Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, Sven, Hans and Grand Pabbie, plus the full list of Frozen characters.

Who Directed the Frozen Movies?

Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee directed both main Frozen films, Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019). The same pair also directed the short Frozen Fever (2015), so the first stretch of the saga has one steady creative hand on it. Each main film had a $150 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo.

The composer is Christophe Beck, who scored both main films and is credited as composer on the shorts Frozen Fever (2015) and Olaf's Frozen Adventure (2017). On Once Upon a Snowman (2020), the composer is Jeff Morrow. The songs for the main films come from Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who also wrote Making Today a Perfect Day for Frozen Fever. Frozen (2013) won two Oscars, Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, according to the Academy. For more on the music, see the Frozen soundtrack page.

The shorts brought in other directors. Olaf's Frozen Adventure (2017) was directed by Stevie Wermers-Skelton and Kevin Deters, and it runs 22 minutes according to TMDB. Once Upon a Snowman (2020) was directed by Dan Abraham and Trent Correy, and arrived on Disney Plus on October 23, 2020.

Who is directing Frozen III? Disney lists Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy as directors, with Christina Chen as producer, according to D23. TheWrap reports that Peter Del Vecho is also a producer and that Lee, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are writers, though Disney has not confirmed those credits. Chris Buck is not named among the confirmed Frozen III directors. The film is set for November 24, 2027, and the production timeline sits on the Frozen 3 page.

Who Returns for Frozen II and Frozen III?

Almost the whole core ensemble returned for Frozen II, and Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad are confirmed for Frozen III. In my opinion, that continuity is the biggest reason the sequel felt like the same family, because the sisters' relationship rests on those two voices and Olaf is still Gad's.

What changed in Frozen II is mostly additions. Evan Rachel Wood joined as Iduna, with Alfred Molina as Agnarr, Sterling K. Brown as Mattias, Rachel Matthews as Honeymaren, Jason Ritter as Ryder, Martha Plimpton as Yelena and Jeremy Sisto as King Runeard. Santino Fontana (Hans) and Alan Tudyk (Duke) do not appear in the top 15 billing of the sequel. Chris Williams, who plays Oaken, is uncredited in Frozen II, which is a small trivia point for fans who like to count his cameos.

What about Frozen III? D23 confirms Bell as Anna, Menzel as Elsa and Gad as Olaf, according to its August 15, 2026 showcase post. Disney has not yet confirmed Jonathan Groff or any other cast member for the new film, so Kristoff and Sven are unconfirmed for now. As such, I would treat the supporting roster as open until Disney announces more. The film is listed for November 24, 2027, with first footage shown at the 2026 D23 showcase.

As for money, TheWrap reported in November 2025 that Bell, Menzel and Gad signed deals worth more than $60 million each covering Frozen III and Frozen IV. That is a reported claim, not a confirmed one, and Disney declined to comment. Frozen IV has no announced cast, crew or date yet.

That being said, the cast list is only one way into the saga. If you want to see the films in sequence before the new one arrives, start with Frozen movies in order, or see every title on the Frozen movies hub.
