Is There a John Wick 5 Trailer Yet? Real Versus Fan Made
No official John Wick 5 trailer exists as of November 3, 2026, because Lionsgate has announced John Wick: Chapter 5 only as a film in development and has not set a release date. Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson confirmed the project at CinemaCon on April 1, 2025, according to TheWrap, and the studio's press release the same day named Thunder Road, Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski (who directed the four main films) as the team behind it. Neither the press release nor TheWrap gave a release date, and TheWrap and Screen Daily gave no shoot date either. With no date and no shoot date announced, there is no official footage to point to.
Why Do So Many John Wick 5 Trailers Show Up in Search?
The results are crowded because fans fill the gap, and the top results for the phrase are mostly fan made concept trailers. Titles such as First Trailer, Official Trailer and Fan Trailer sit side by side, and the word official in a video title proves nothing on its own, since anyone can type it.
How Can You Tell a Real Trailer From a Fake One?
Check the channel first, then the cast. A genuine release would appear on Lionsgate's own YouTube channel and be reported the same day by TheWrap or another major trade paper. The cast in the title should also match what the studio has announced, and right now that list has one name: Keanu Reeves as John Wick, who is also a producer alongside Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski. A title that bills other stars is speculation, and that includes Ana de Armas, who leads Ballerina as Eve, which is a different film. The same goes for any actor named in a thumbnail rather than in a studio announcement.
Which John Wick Trailers Are Official?
Official trailers belong to the five released films: four main entries and one spinoff. TheWrap reported that the Ballerina trailer used a Von Dutch remix. The table shows how those films line up with the film everyone is waiting on.
| Film | Year | Director | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|---|
| John Wick (2014) | 2014 | Chad Stahelski | Main film |
| John Wick: Chapter 2 | 2017 | Chad Stahelski | Main film |
| John Wick: Chapter 3: Parabellum | 2019 | Chad Stahelski | Main film |
| John Wick: Chapter 4 | 2023 | Chad Stahelski | Main film |
| Ballerina | 2025 | Len Wiseman | Spinoff set during Chapter 3 |
| John Wick: Chapter 5 | No date | Not announced | In development |
What Should You Watch While Waiting?
The best use of the wait is the back catalog, in the right sequence. The john wick movies in order guide sets out release order and chronological order. Ballerina is set during Chapter 3, so the chronological order places it fourth, after Chapter 3 and before Chapter 4. The john wick timeline shows how the stories connect, and the john wick soundtrack and john wick cast pages cover the music and the ensemble of the films that already exist. When a date or first footage does arrive, it will be logged on the john wick 5 page first, so check there before trusting a video that claims to be the real thing.

FAQs
Is there really going to be John Wick 5?
Yes, Lionsgate has announced John Wick: Chapter 5 as in development. Is the John Wick 5 trailer real or fake?
Any John Wick 5 trailer found online should be treated as fan made unless it is on Lionsgate's official channel and reported by the trades.
