New Percy Jackson Movie: Is a Third Film Happening?
There is no new Percy Jackson movie: no third film has been announced, and the next Percy Jackson release is Season 3 of the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which premieres on November 20, 2026. The only two films are Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013), and the story has continued on television instead.
Is There Going to Be a New Percy Jackson Film?
No new Percy Jackson film has been announced, and the franchise has two movies in total. Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), directed by Chris Columbus, and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013), directed by Thor Freudenthal, are both from 20th Century Fox, and both draw on Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson novels about a teenager who learns he is the son of a Greek god. A third film was never made. No studio, distributor or trade report has named a cast, a director, a title or a date for a new movie.
So, if you searched for the next Percy Jackson movie or Percy Jackson movie 3, the honest answer is that the film slot is empty. The next thing with the Percy Jackson name on it is a streaming release, not a theater one. Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians arrives on Disney+ on November 20, 2026, according to Disney's press site (published July 23, 2026), and it adapts The Titan's Curse. That is a television season, so it sits outside the film list.

New Percy Jackson Movie Cast: Who Is Confirmed?
Nobody is confirmed, because there is no new Percy Jackson film in production to cast. No actor, director or writer has been attached to a third movie in any studio announcement or trade report.
The actors who made the two films remain on record. Logan Lerman played Percy Jackson in both movies, with Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood and Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase. Jake Abel played Luke Castellan in both as well. Sea of Monsters added Douglas Smith as Tyson, Leven Rambin as Clarisse La Rue and Stanley Tucci as Dionysus. The full list is on the percy jackson cast page.
The Disney+ series is a separate television adaptation of Rick Riordan's books with its own cast, and Walker Scobell plays Percy there in place of Logan Lerman. Its casting does not signal a film. Readers meeting the characters again can browse percy jackson characters, including Annabeth Chase and Grover.
Are There Any Percy Jackson Movie Rumors?
There are no credible rumors about a third Percy Jackson film. No claim about a reboot, a continuation or a new theatrical release has come from a studio statement or a trade paper, and an unsourced claim is not worth repeating.
That being said, plans can change. A credible report from a studio or a trade such as Variety, The Hollywood Reporter or Deadline would be the signal to watch for, and until one appears a third film stays unannounced.
What We Know About Percy Jackson 3 and Where the Story Went
What we know is short: two films were made, a third was not, and the next Percy Jackson release is a Disney+ series season, not a film. Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians adapts The Titan's Curse, so it is television and not a Percy Jackson 3.
Why did they cancel Percy Jackson 3? No studio statement or trade report gives a reason, so any explanation is guesswork. In my opinion, the box office numbers are the likeliest piece of the picture, though I cannot prove it. Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief took in about $226 million worldwide on a $95 million budget. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters fell to about $200 million on a $90 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo. A drop like that between the first and second films could make a studio hesitate over a third.

For now, the practical move is to watch the films and the series in whatever order suits you. Both films stream on Disney+ in the US, UK and Australia, per TMDB's watch data checked November 3, 2026, and the guide on where to watch percy jackson has the full list.
