New Twilight Movie Trailer: Status and Every Twilight Trailer

No official trailer for a new Twilight movie exists, because no studio has announced a sixth film. The five films in the saga, Twilight (2008), The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, are complete, and the only new Twilight project is an animated series for Netflix. If you landed here after seeing a thumbnail with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, the short version is that a trailer for a sixth film does not exist, and the real trailers belong to the five films below.

Videos titled "Twilight Saga 6" or "New Chapter" cannot be trailers for an announced film, because no sixth film has been announced. No title or release date exists for a sixth film, so a video using that name is not a studio trailer. If a trailer for a real new film arrives, it will be covered on our new Twilight movie page first.

The "Forever Begins Again" teaser promoted a theatrical rerelease of the original films, not a new movie. Lionsgate posted a social media teaser with images of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, and fans speculated that a new Twilight film was on the way. According to a report syndicated by Yahoo Entertainment from ComingSoon.net on August 28, 2025, the follow up announcement said no new Twilight movie is in the works, and that the campaign was a theatrical rerelease of all five original films in October 2025.

No, Midnight Sun is an animated series for Netflix, so it is television and not a film. Deseret News reported on September 4, 2024 that Netflix had announced it. Lionsgate Television is producing, Sinead Daly is writing and executive producing, and Stephenie Meyer is an executive producer. The same report says the series was in development with no release date and no cast. So, anyone searching for a "new Twilight movie trailer on Netflix" will not find one: a teaser for the series, once it exists, would be a series teaser.

Nobody has been cast as Bella Swan in a sixth film, because there is no sixth film. Kristen Stewart played Bella in all five movies, Robert Pattinson played Edward Cullen and Taylor Lautner played Jacob Black, while Mackenzie Foy played Renesmee in Breaking Dawn Part 2. No casting has been announced for Midnight Sun either. You can see who played whom on the Twilight cast page and read about the leads on the Bella Swan and Edward Cullen pages.

The five original films each had their own studio trailers, and they remain the only official Twilight film trailers. The saga runs in release order, which is also the chronological order:

• Twilight (2008), directed by Catherine Hardwicke, released in the US on November 21, 2008.
• The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), directed by Chris Weitz, released in the US on November 20, 2009.
• The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), directed by David Slade, released in the US on June 30, 2010.
• The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 (2011), directed by Bill Condon, released in the US on November 18, 2011.
• The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2012), directed by Bill Condon, released in the US on November 16, 2012.

Each film has its own story and cast: Twilight 2008, Twilight New Moon, Twilight Eclipse, Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Breaking Dawn Part 2. The Twilight movies in order guide sets out the viewing sequence, and the full list sits on the Twilight movies hub.

The five films were made on five rising budgets and, apart from the Breaking Dawn pair, by four different directors, so each trailer sells a slightly different movie. Twilight (2008) cost $37 million, and a Hurriyet report on the film noted its release moved from December 12 to November 21, 2008, after MTV Films had shelved the project. New Moon grew to $50 million under Chris Weitz, who was hired after Catherine Hardwicke left, according to Screen Daily in December 2008. Eclipse, at $68 million, went to David Slade, and Screen Daily reported that filming began in Vancouver in August 2009. Bill Condon then directed both Breaking Dawn films, shot back to back, at $110 million and $120 million.

In my opinion, that climb is why the 2008 trailer is the one to watch first. It is a small film selling a mood: Bella Swan leaving Phoenix for rainy Forks, the unusually pale Cullen siblings at school, and Edward stopping a sliding van in the parking lot. Breaking Dawn Part 1 sells an event instead, the wedding and the honeymoon island, while Part 2 leans on Renesmee, played by Mackenzie Foy, and the Volturi. It could be argued that the money shows in the results too, since the first film grossed about $405 million worldwide and Part 2 about $889 million (Box Office Mojo and The Numbers). That being said, the cheapest film in the saga is still the clearest picture of what the series promised before it became a franchise.

No new Twilight film has been announced for 2027 or any other year. Because no US, UK or Australian date exists, any 2027 claim is speculation. Talk of a live action sequel or reboot is fan speculation, and the follow up announcement to the "Forever Begins Again" teaser said no new movie is in the works, as reported by Yahoo Entertainment syndicating ComingSoon.net.
