Underworld 6 Trailer: No Official One Exists Yet

There is no official Underworld 6 trailer, because no studio has announced a sixth Underworld film and there is nothing for a trailer to advertise. Search results for the term are packed with clips titled "Rise of the Dark Blood", "Curse of the Ancients" or "Queen of Ashes", often dated 2025 or 2026 and with Kate Beckinsale cut in as Selene. Those are fan made concept pieces, and the viral Rise of the Dark Blood teaser is reported to be AI generated. They are a bit like a showroom photo of a car that has never left the factory drawing board: good to look at, with nothing to drive.

A real trailer needs a film behind it, and no studio announcement, greenlight or date exists for a new Underworld film. That is the quickest test: if a clip claims to be official but no studio has announced the film, it is not official. The same goes for any "Underworld 6 trailer on Netflix" listing, since no announcement of a sixth film exists to begin with.

The franchise itself has been quiet for years. The last film, Underworld: Blood Wars, directed by Anna Foerster, opened in US theaters on January 6, 2017, according to Box Office Mojo. The only revival effort reported since is a TV series. According to ComicBook.com, on September 19, 2023, Len Wiseman said a future for Underworld was in the works and confirmed that the project he meant was the TV series. No new film was named, and there is no studio announcement, greenlight or date. The full status sits on the underworld 6 page.

The star question keeps changing, and all of it is rumor. CBR reported on January 22, 2026 that Beckinsale said she will not return as Selene in any new film, because the rights holders are people she could not work with. A CBR piece from September 5, 2026 muddies this, with one passage saying she sealed a return in early 2026 and another quoting her saying a return is not possible. No trade outlet confirms a return. CBR also floated a film centered on Eve (India Eisley), and that is the outlet's own speculation, not an announcement.

What does exist is the five released films. Underworld (2003), directed by Len Wiseman and released in the US on September 19, 2003, follows the Death Dealer Selene (Beckinsale), who realizes the Lycans are following a human medical resident, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman). Underworld: Evolution, also directed by Wiseman and released on January 20, 2006, puts Selene and Michael on the run as the elder Markus wakes early and kills Kraven and his men.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, released on January 23, 2009 and directed by Patrick Tatopoulos, is the prequel set long before the first film, built around Lucian, Viktor and Viktor's daughter Sonja (Rhona Mitra) rather than Selene. Underworld: Awakening, directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein and released on January 20, 2012, wakes Selene from a cryogenic tank into a world where humans have purged both species, and introduces her daughter Eve and Theo James as David. Underworld: Blood Wars brings David back, with Tobias Menzies as the Lycan leader Marius, and sends Selene to train the Eastern Coven's young Death Dealers.

What would a genuine trailer have to sell? It could be argued that the answer is the Selene and Michael pairing, and the numbers hint at why that matters. Awakening, with Beckinsale front and center and a $70 million budget, made about $160 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Blood Wars cost $35 million and made about $81 million. Rise of the Lycans, the one film without Selene, made about $92 million on $35 million, so the star is not the only draw. Paradoxically, the prequel is also the shortest-cast story of the five, a single doomed romance between Lucian and Sonja inside Viktor's fortress, which is the kind of hook a teaser can carry in thirty seconds. That is my reading as a fan of the creature work, not a studio plan, and no such footage has been released.
