Underworld 6: Is There a Next Underworld Movie?
Underworld 6 has not been announced: as of November 3, 2026, no studio has confirmed a sixth film, a title, a cast or a release date. The last film, Underworld: Blood Wars, directed by Anna Foerster, reached US theaters in January 2017, and the only revival effort reported since is a TV series, not a movie.
Is There an Underworld 6 Movie?
No, there is no confirmed Underworld 6 movie, and the status of a next Underworld film is best described as in development at most, with no greenlight. No studio has announced a sixth film, and no trade outlet has reported a director, a writer or a production start for a sixth feature.
So, is there going to be a 6th Underworld? Is there a part 6 of Underworld at all? The honest answer is that nobody with the authority to say yes has said it. The five films are Underworld (2003), directed by Len Wiseman, Underworld: Evolution (2006), also by Wiseman, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009), directed by Patrick Tatopoulos, Underworld: Awakening (2012), directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein, and Underworld: Blood Wars (2016), directed by Anna Foerster. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is a prequel set centuries before the first film, so it comes first in the chronological order of the Underworld movies in order guide.
Fan made concept trailers with invented subtitles and polished posters circulate widely in search results. One viral clip titled "Underworld 6: Rise of the Dark Blood" is fan made and AI generated, so it is not evidence of a real project. No studio has announced a sixth film, so there is no official trailer to watch.
Underworld 6 Cast: Who Is Confirmed?
Nobody is confirmed for the Underworld 6 cast, because there is no announced film to cast. Kate Beckinsale (Selene), Scott Speedman (Michael Corvin) and Theo James (David) are the names fans search most, but none of them has been announced for a new film by a studio or a trade paper.
Beckinsale led four of the five films as Selene, the vampire Death Dealer, and was billed first in Underworld (2003), Underworld: Evolution, Underworld: Awakening and Underworld: Blood Wars. Speedman played Michael Corvin in the first two films and was billed second both times. Theo James played David in Awakening and Blood Wars, and India Eisley played Eve, Selene's daughter, in Awakening. Bill Nighy, as the elder Viktor, and Michael Sheen, as Lucian, are the other names tied to the early films, and their characters are covered on the Underworld characters page.
Any casting claim for a sixth film is therefore a rumor, and the one that matters most, whether Beckinsale returns, is covered in the next section. For the people who made the existing films, see Underworld cast.
Underworld 6 Rumors: What Has Been Reported
Four reports bear on a next Underworld movie, and every one is reported or unconfirmed, with none an announcement. They concern a TV series, Kate Beckinsale's possible return, a possible film centered on Eve, and a teased sixth film.
First, in September 2023, ComicBook.com reported that Len Wiseman said a future for Underworld was in the works and that the project he meant was the TV series. No new film was named, and there was no studio announcement, greenlight or date. Status: reported.
Second, in January 2026, CBR reported that Beckinsale will not return as Selene in any new Underworld film, and that she said the rights holders are people she could not work with. The same article says it is unknown whether a new film will happen. Status: reported.
Third, the same CBR article floats a possible new film centered on Eve (India Eisley). CBR frames this as its own speculation, not an announcement. Status: unconfirmed.
Fourth, a September 2026 CBR piece says a sixth film has been teased but that no confirmation or development has begun. One passage says Beckinsale sealed her return as Selene in early 2026, yet the same article quotes her saying a return is not possible, and no trade outlet confirms a return. Status: unconfirmed. The two CBR reports contradict each other on Beckinsale, and neither is backed by a trade outlet.

What We Know About the Next Underworld Movie
In my opinion, the evidence points to a TV revival first and a sixth film only later, if at all. The only revival effort reported is the series that Len Wiseman discussed, and no film has so much as a title.
The box office history helps explain the quiet. Underworld: Awakening was the high point, with $160 million worldwide on a $70 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo. Underworld: Blood Wars then took about $81 million worldwide on a $35 million budget, the lowest worldwide total of the five films and the lowest domestic one at about $30 million. A studio looking at those numbers would see a series that was shrinking, which is a hard sell for a sixth film. The full figures for each film are set out in the Underworld box office guide.
There is also a story question, and it could be argued that it matters more than the money. Blood Wars sets up Marius, leader of the Lycans, wanting Selene's help to find her daughter Eve, and the cast question hangs over anything that follows. If Beckinsale really is out, a film built on Eve (the speculation CBR floated) or on David, who has his own pull from Underworld: Awakening, is the natural route. Both are guesses, not reports of a plan.
My advice is to treat every concept trailer as fan art. If you want to be ready for whatever does arrive, watch the films in the right sequence using Underworld movies in order, check the Underworld timeline, and read the Selene Underworld profile first.

FAQs
Is there going to be a 6th Underworld?
There is no confirmed sixth Underworld film. No studio has announced a title, cast, director or release date, and the last film, Underworld: Blood Wars, came out in January 2017. The only revival effort reported is a TV series.
Is there a part 6 of Underworld?
Not yet. The series stands at five films: Underworld (2003), Underworld: Evolution, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Underworld: Awakening and Underworld: Blood Wars. A September 2026 CBR report says a sixth film has been teased but that no confirmation or development has begun.
Is there a 6th Underworld movie release date?
No. The Underworld 6 release date is to be confirmed in the US, the UK and Australia, because no studio or trade outlet has reported one. Fan trailers and posters that show a date or subtitle are not official.
Is Kate Beckinsale returning as Selene in Underworld 6?
It is not confirmed. CBR reported in January 2026 that Beckinsale will not return as Selene and that she said the rights holders are people she could not work with. A later CBR article contradicts itself on the point, and no trade outlet confirms a return.
Is Michael Corvin still alive?
No studio or trade report states Michael's final fate. Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman) is captured alongside Selene at the start of Underworld: Awakening, and Speedman is not among the top 15 billed cast of Awakening or Underworld: Blood Wars. No new film is announced that would revisit him.
What happened to Selene's daughter in Underworld?
Selene's daughter is Eve, played by India Eisley in Underworld: Awakening, where Selene finds her held in a lab. In Underworld: Blood Wars, Marius wants Selene's help finding Eve, because her blood could let him build an army of hybrids. A possible new film centered on Eve is only speculation from CBR.
